The modem will then restart &#8211; this may take a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Once the modem has been reset, ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you are using to access your modem (e.g. computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet). If you are using a smartphone or tablet, you should turn off your mobile data connectivity or any hotspot connection during this process.<\/p>\n<p>Connect to the Wi-Fi\/Wireless network of the TP-Link TD-W9970 modem on your computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet. To connect to the Wi-Fi network of the TP-Link TD-W9970 modem, locate the Wi-Fi network name being broadcast by the modem from your device (e.g. computer\/laptop), select this network, then enter the password for this network when prompted.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi password, this will be printed on the bottom of the TP-Link TD-W9970 modem and is usually labelled &#8220;Wireless Password\/PIN&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION TO CONNECT TO THE WI-FI OF THE TP-LINK TD-W9970 MODEM OR ACCESS THE MODEM GATEWAY PAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can plug in an RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your computer or laptop to one of the four (4) yellow LAN ports on the back of the TP-Link TD-W9970 modem.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10259\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TD-W9970_EU_2.0_05_large_1511246888471p.jpg\" alt=\"Td W9970 Eu 2.0 05 Large 1511246888471p\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TD-W9970_EU_2.0_05_large_1511246888471p.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TD-W9970_EU_2.0_05_large_1511246888471p-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TD-W9970_EU_2.0_05_large_1511246888471p-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/TD-W9970_EU_2.0_05_large_1511246888471p-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 2 - log into your modem","content":"<p>Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome\/Internet Explorer\/Mozilla Firefox\/Microsoft Edge), enter <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>tplinkmodem.net<\/strong><\/span> into the address bar and press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>If this does not work, you can also try and enter <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">192.168.1.1<\/span> <\/strong>into the address bar.<\/p>\n<p>If successful, a login box or window should appear asking for a username and password. Enter <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>admin<\/strong><\/span> for the username and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>admin<\/strong><\/span> for the password.<\/p>\n<p>If this doesn\u2019t work, the password will be printed on the sticker on the bottom of the TP-Link TD-W9970 modem, usually labelled &#8220;Default Access&#8221;. Click &#8216;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Network<\/span><\/strong>&#8216;.<\/span> Then, underneath this, click &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>WAN Settings<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;. On some models, this option may appear as &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>EWAN<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8216;<\/span><\/span>. You will need to enter\/select these options as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connection Type: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">PPPoE<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>PPP Username: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">000000000000000@wba.matenbn.com.au <\/span><\/strong>(your MATE service username would have been emailed to you during the order process)<br \/>\n<strong>PPP Password: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">1234567 <\/span><\/strong>(your MATE service password would have been emailed to you during the order process \u2013 this is NOT the same password as your MATE self-care login)<br \/>\n<strong>Confirm Password: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">1234567 <\/span><\/strong>(your MATE service password would have been emailed to you during the order process \u2013 this is NOT the same password as your MATE self-care login)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-10278\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/PPPoE.png\" alt=\"Pppoe\" width=\"799\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/PPPoE.png 1006w, https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/PPPoE-768x394.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Leave all other options as they are by default, then press &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Save<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;<\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 4 - plug your modem into the nbn\u2122 device","content":"<p>You now need to plug your TP-Link TD-W9970 modem into your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/faq\/what-is-nbn-supplied-equipment\/\">nbn\u2122 device<\/a> using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable.<\/p>\n<p>One end of the Ethernet cable needs to be plugged into the yellow port labelled <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>LAN4\/WAN<\/strong><\/span> on the back of the modem and the other end into the active port on your nbn\u2122 device &#8211; this will either be a numbered <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>UNI-D<\/strong> <\/span>port (such as UNI-D 1, UNI-D 2 etc.) or a <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">GATEWAY<\/span><\/strong> port.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure which port to plug into on your nbn\u2122 device, please refer to your MATE activation email and SMS which specifies the correct port.<\/p>\n<p>If you have configured and plugged in your modem correctly, the\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Internet<\/span><\/strong> light on the front of your modem should illuminate.
