Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you are using to access your modem (e.g. computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet). If you are using a smartphone or tablet, you should turn off your mobile data connectivity or any hotspot connection during this process.<\/p>\n

Connect to the Wi-Fi\/Wireless network of the TP-Link Archer VR900 on your computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet. To connect to the Wi-Fi network of the modem, locate the Wi-Fi network name being broadcast by the modem from your device (e.g. computer\/laptop), select this network, then enter the password for this network when prompted.<\/p>\n

If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi password, this will be printed on the bottom of the TP-Link Archer VR900 modem.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION TO CONNECT TO THE WI-FI OF THE TP-LINK ARCHER VR900 OR ACCESS THE MODEM GATEWAY PAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alternatively, you can plug in an RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your computer or laptop to one of the four (4) yellow LAN ports on the back of the TP-Link Archer VR900.<\/p>\n

\"Tp<\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 2 - log into your modem","content":"

Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome\/Internet Explorer\/Mozilla Firefox\/Microsoft Edge), enter 192.168.1.1<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0into the address bar and press Enter.<\/p>\n

If this doesn\u2019t work, you can also try and enter the following: tplinkmodem.net<\/span><\/strong> or tplinkwifi.net<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If successful, a login box or window should appear asking for a username and password. Enter admin<\/strong><\/span> in the Username field;<\/p>\n

Enter admin<\/strong><\/span> in the Password field. If this doesn\u2019t work, the password will be printed on the bottom of the modem. Enter this password.<\/p>\n

Once you have logged in, click ‘ADVANCED<\/strong><\/span>‘ at the top of the page. Then, on the left-hand pane, click ‘OPERATION MODE<\/strong><\/span>‘.<\/p>\n

Select ‘WIRELESS ROUTER MODE<\/strong><\/span>‘ and then press Save.<\/p>\n

The modem will reboot – this may take a few minutes.<\/p>\n

Once the modem reboots, click ‘BASIC<\/strong><\/span>‘ at the top of the page. Then, on the left-hand pane, click ‘INTERNET<\/span><\/strong>‘.<\/p>\n

There will now be multiple options presented. You will need to enter\/select these options as follows:<\/p>\n

ISP List: Other<\/strong><\/span>
\nVLAN ID: Disabled or not ticked<\/strong><\/span>
\nConnection type: PPPoE<\/strong><\/span>
\nUsername: 000000000000000@wba.matenbn.com.au<\/span><\/strong> (your MATE service username would have been emailed to you during the order process)
\nPassword: 1234567<\/span><\/strong> (your MATE service password would have been emailed to you during the order process \u2013 this is NOT the same password as your MATE self-care login)<\/p>\n

Click the ‘APPLY<\/strong><\/span>‘ or ‘SAVE<\/strong><\/span>‘ button.<\/p>\n

You now need to plug your TP-Link Archer VR900 modem into your nbn\u2122 device<\/a> using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable.<\/p>\n

One end of the Ethernet cable needs to be plugged into the yellow port labelled LAN4\/WAN<\/strong><\/span> on the back of the modem and the other end into the active port on your nbn\u2122 device – this will either be a numbered UNI-D<\/strong> <\/span>port (such as UNI-D 1, UNI-D 2 etc.) or a GATEWAY<\/span><\/strong> port.<\/p>\n

If you are unsure which port to plug into on your nbn\u2122 device, please refer to your MATE activation email and SMS which specifies the correct port.<\/p>\n

If you have configured and plugged in your modem correctly, the\u00a0Internet<\/span><\/strong> light on the front of your modem should illuminate. This may take up to five (5) minutes.<\/p>\n
