If you are using a smartphone or tablet, you should turn off your mobile data connectivity or any hotspot connection during this process.<\/p>\n<p>Connect to the Wi-Fi\/Wireless network of the TP-Link Archer VR900 on your computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet. To connect to the Wi-Fi network of the modem, locate the Wi-Fi network name being broadcast by the modem from your device (e.g. computer\/laptop), select this network, then enter the password for this network when prompted.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi password, this will be printed on the bottom of the TP-Link Archer VR900 modem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION TO CONNECT TO THE WI-FI OF THE TP-LINK ARCHER VR900 OR ACCESS THE MODEM GATEWAY PAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can plug in an RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your computer or laptop to one of the four (4) yellow LAN ports on the back of the TP-Link Archer VR900.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11016\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/tp-link_archer_VR900_front-e1606112356370.jpg\" alt=\"Tp Link Archer Vr900 Front\" width=\"700\" height=\"646\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/tp-link_archer_VR900_front-e1606112356370.jpg 937w, https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/tp-link_archer_VR900_front-e1606112356370-768x709.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 2 - log into your modem","content":"<p>Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome\/Internet Explorer\/Mozilla Firefox\/Microsoft Edge), enter <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">192.168.1.1<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0into the address bar and press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>If this doesn\u2019t work, you can also try and enter the following: <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">tplinkmodem.net<\/span><\/strong> or <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>tplinkwifi.net<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If successful, a login box or window should appear asking for a username and password. Enter <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>admin<\/strong><\/span> in the Username field;<\/p>\n<p>Enter <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>admin<\/strong><\/span> in the Password field. If this doesn\u2019t work, the password will be printed on the bottom of the modem. Then, on the left hand pane, click &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>INTERNET<\/strong><\/span>&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>There will now be multiple options presented. One end of the telephone cable needs to be plugged into the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>DSL<\/strong><\/span> port on the back of the modem and the other end into the telephone wall socket in your home.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to wait for the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>DSL<\/strong><\/span> light on your modem to turn solid \u2013 this may take up to 15 minutes. DO NOT UNPLUG THE MODEM DURING THIS TIME.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11019\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letsbemates.com.au\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/tp-link_archer_VR900_DSL.jpg\" alt=\"Tp Link Archer Vr900 Dsl\" width=\"800\" height=\"617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/tp-link_archer_VR900_DSL.jpg 873w, https:\/\/mate.web.clickclick.media\/mate\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/tp-link_archer_VR900_DSL-768x592.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If the DSL light on the top does not turn solid after 15 minutes and you have more than one socket in the home, please plug your TP-Link modem into any other available telephone sockets in your home, and turn the power on and off once plugged in.<\/p>\n<p>Leave your TP-Link Archer VR900 modem plugged into each telephone wall socket for up to 15 minutes until the DSL light on the modem turns solid.
