Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you are using to access your modem (e.g. computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet). If you are using a smartphone or tablet, you should turn off your mobile data connectivity or any hotspot connection during this process.<\/p>\n

Connect to the Wi-Fi\/Wireless network of the NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem on your computer\/laptop\/smartphone\/tablet. To connect to the Wi-Fi network of the NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem, locate the Wi-Fi network name being broadcast by the modem from your device (e.g. computer\/laptop), select this network, then enter the password for this network when prompted.<\/p>\n

If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi password, this will be printed on the sticker on the back of the NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000, underneath the barcodes.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION TO CONNECT TO THE WI-FI OF THE NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK D7000 MODEM OR ACCESS THE MODEM GATEWAY PAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alternatively, you can plug in an RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your computer or laptop to one of the four (4) yellow Ethernet ports on the back of the NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem.<\/p>\n

\"NETGEAR<\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 2 - log into your modem","content":"

IMPORTANT: Before you attempt to log in to the NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem, remove the DSL cable from the back of the modem. The only cable that should be connected is the power supply.<\/p>\n

Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome\/Internet Explorer\/Mozilla Firefox\/Microsoft Edge), enter 192.168.0.1<\/span><\/strong> into the address bar and press Enter.<\/p>\n

If successful, a login box or window should appear asking for a username and password. If the login box or window does not appear, you can try www.routerlogin.net<\/span><\/strong> instead of 192.168.0.1.<\/p>\n

Enter admin<\/strong><\/span> for the username and password<\/strong><\/span> for the password.<\/p>\n

If the above login doesn\u2019t work, the password will be printed on the sticker on the back of the NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem. Enter this password.<\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 3 - enter the MATE settings into your modem","content":"

Once you have logged in, the next set of instructions may differ depending on whether your NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem is brand new, or if the modem has been used previously.<\/p>\n

You should see two tabs located in the top-left corner of the page showing ‘BASIC<\/strong>‘ and ‘ADVANCED<\/strong>‘. Click BASIC<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

You will then see a list of options on the left side of the page. Click ‘INTERNET<\/strong><\/span>‘.<\/p>\n

This should now open up a page on the right side of the screen titled INTERNET SETUP<\/strong>. There will now be multiple options presented. You will need to enter\/select these options as follows:<\/p>\n

Select Country: Australia<\/span>
\nSelect Internet Service Provider: Other<\/span>
\nTransfer Modem: VDSL(PTM)<\/span>
\nDSL Mode: VDSL2<\/span>
\nEnable this interface: Ticked (Enabled)<\/span>
\nUse VLANID: Unticked (Greyed out\/not selectable)<\/span>
\nDoes your connection require a login: Yes<\/span>
\nEncapsulation: PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)<\/span>
\n—
\nLogin: 000000000000000@wba.matenbn.com.au (your MATE service username would have been emailed to you during the order process)<\/span><\/span>
\nPassword: 1234567 (your MATE service password would have been emailed to you during the order process – this is NOT the same password as your MATE self-care login)<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Leave all other options as they are and press the ‘APPLY<\/span><\/strong>‘ button at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n"},{"label":"step 4 - plug your modem into your telephone wall socket","content":"

You now need to plug your NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem into your telephone wall socket using an RJ-11 telephone cable.<\/p>\n

One end of the telephone cable needs to be plugged into the grey DSL<\/span> port on the back of the modem and the other end into the telephone wall socket in your home.<\/p>\n

\"NETGEAR<\/p>\n

You will need to wait for the DSL<\/span> light on the front of your modem to turn solid \u2013 this may take up to 15 minutes. DO NOT UNPLUG THE MODEM DURING THIS TIME.<\/p>\n

If the DSL light on the front does not turn solid after 15 minutes and you have more than one socket in the home, please plug your NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem into any other available telephone sockets in your home, and turn the power on and off once plugged in.<\/p>\n

Leave your NETGEAR Nighthawk D7000 modem plugged into each telephone wall socket for up to 15 minutes until the DSL light on the modem turns solid. Once this occurs, the Internet<\/span> light should also illuminate.<\/p>\n
